Positioning Update: US RF Designer Inside the SpaceX and AI Infrastructure Chain, From Satellite Ground Stations to AI-RAN Base Stations to Phone

The Setup
Morgan Stanley reiterated Overweight on SpaceX (SPCX) on July 24, 2026 with a $300 price target and framed the story as "uniquely positioned across launch, connectivity, and AI." That is the same three-layer stack the AMPG investment thesis has followed for two years. Two days earlier, Starship's 13th test flight completed launch and booster separation, keeping the Starlink v3 constellation build on schedule.
AMPG participates in all three layers. It is the only US-designed, O-RAN-certified 64T64R Massive MIMO radio vendor. Its RF and low-noise amplifier products ship into Ka-band satellite ground stations. Its 5G radios are the reference hardware in NVIDIA AI Aerial AI-RAN designs. With Wall Street valuing Starlink and SpaceX at $109 to $123 billion on the connectivity plus AI narrative, AMPG is one of a handful of US-listed picks-and-shovels ways to own the same chain at a $137M market cap.

Growth Trajectory
FY2025 revenue was $25.2M, up 165% from FY2024's $9.5M and above the FY2023 print of $15.6M. This is a breakout on absolute dollars, not a mean-reversion off a weak comp. Q1 FY2026 came in at $5.35M revenue and a 48.0% gross margin — the highest-margin quarter in company history, and the first hard evidence that mix is shifting from legacy project revenue to Open RAN radios and MMIC.
Management guided FY2026 revenue to $50M (approximately 2x FY25) and stated a 25% to 30% CAGR target through 2030.

Recent Catalyst Timeline (July 2026)

Why the SpaceX Narrative Is a Tailwind for AMPG
The SpaceX June 12, 2026 IPO at $135 — currently around $115, 52-week high $225.64 — repriced the satellite connectivity supply chain. Morgan Stanley's $300 target is anchored on Starlink v3 direct-to-cell service plus in-orbit AI compute. Three implications follow for AMPG.
Ground infrastructure scales with the constellation. Every Starlink v3 satellite requires matched Ka and Ku-band ground terminals. Amazon Kuiper is deploying to close the gap. Both feed LNA, LNB, and MMIC demand for AMPG. The Amazon logo added to AMPG's customer page in June 2026 is the first public signal of that customer relationship.
AI-RAN turns 5G base stations into distributed edge compute. NVIDIA Aerial plus Massive MIMO is the same chip-and-radio pairing that hyperscale data center suppliers command premium multiples for today. AMPG's 64T64R is the US-designed radio in the AI-RAN reference design. The Huawei and ZTE rip-and-replace program is federally funded, and 53 of 126 FCC projects are complete as of the June 2026 report, up from 13 in December.
August catalysts on SpaceX flow through to AMPG. SpaceX reports its first quarter as a public company on August 4, 2026, and the first lockup tranche of roughly 911.5M shares unlocks August 6, 2026. Constructive SpaceX numbers on Starlink v3 volume put every US-listed launch, connectivity, and AI-RAN name back in focus. AMPG is one of the few nano-cap names in that basket.
Sell-Side View and Valuation Frame
Coverage is thin. Maxim Group's Jack Vander Aarde carries Buy and a $7 price target, which is roughly 29.4% upside from $5.41. The more useful frame is the shape of the setup behind the point estimate.
Multiple. On the FY2026 management guide of $50M, AMPG trades at approximately 2.7x forward EV/Sales. The Open RAN hardware comp set (Mavenir private round, Airspan pre-restructuring, Parallel Wireless private) valued similar names at 3x to 6x at their last funding marks. Software-defined RAN and AI-adjacent peers trade materially higher.
Margin mix. FY2025 gross margin was 23.9%, held down by legacy project mix. Q1 FY2026 stepped to 48.0% as radio revenue took over. That is the operating leverage that turns the FY2026 revenue guide into a meaningful EBITDA inflection.
Loss profile. Net loss narrowed 37.7% year over year from $11.2M to $7.0M ahead of any LOI conversion. R&D held at $2.7M. The company is not cutting investment to hit targets.
Risks to Underwrite

Justifying a $28 Price Target
From $5.41, $28 is +417.6% upside. This is a stretch target, and the honest way to underwrite it is to start with the addressable market, size a defensible share, then quantify the multiple expansion required. $28 is a 24 to 36 month target that requires either FY2028 revenue near $100M at 8x EV/Sales, or a full AI-RAN re-rating to 11–13x on FY2027 revenue. It is not a base case; it is the path if execution and AI-RAN adoption both land.
Step 1: The addressable market AMPG sells into.
AMPG's product catalog maps onto three overlapping TAMs that all grow into the late decade.

The combined blended addressable market is roughly $25 to $30B by 2030. The five satcom growth drivers — LEO constellations, remote-region broadband, defense and public safety, maritime and in-flight connectivity, and 5G/IoT integration — each map to a specific AMPG product.
Step 2: What share does AMPG need to underwrite $28?

Even the FY2028 $100M path implied by $28 requires less than half a percent of the blended TAM. The share of market is executable. The real questions are timing and multiple expansion.
Step 3: Dilution and enterprise value at $28.
The correct share count for the math is approximately 29.8M diluted. The Q1 FY2026 10-Q reported 24.3M weighted-average shares. The $21.9M Series A rights offering that closed July 20, 2026 plus recent warrant activity brings the post-offering fully diluted count to roughly 29.8M. With $5.0M cash, a $28 share price implies a market cap of $834.4M and an implied enterprise value of $829.4M.
Step 4: EV/Sales required to justify $28.

Reference multiples: Open RAN and RF hardware peers marked at 3x to 6x EV/Sales at the last private funding rounds (Mavenir, Airspan pre-restructuring, Parallel Wireless). Software-defined RAN and NVIDIA-adjacent AI-RAN names trade at 6x to 12x when the AI narrative is on. Pure-play AI infrastructure names (Vertiv, Astera Labs, Credo) have traded at 10x to 20x forward sales at peak enthusiasm. $28 assumes AMPG catches the AI-RAN cohort multiple, not the RF hardware cohort.
Three Routes to $28
Route 1 — Execution plus AI-RAN re-rating (base case). FY27 revenue of $65M to $75M at 11x to 13x EV/Sales on 29.8M shares. Requires the $118M LOI stack to convert to purchase orders, the 48% Q1 gross margin to hold as radio volume ramps, and the AI-RAN cohort multiple to expand toward the NVIDIA-adjacent band. The rip-and-replace program (53 of 126 projects complete), the Fujitsu five-year deal, and AI-RAN Alliance membership support this path. You are underwriting execution and narrative in tandem.
Route 2 — FY28 revenue anchor. $100M FY28 revenue at 8x EV/Sales on 29.8M shares. This is the cleanest defense because 8x sits inside the Open RAN plus AI-adjacent hardware band and does not require the AI-RAN cohort multiple to hold at peak. It requires 30% to 40% CAGR from the FY26 $50M guide through FY28, which the LOI stack and the rip-and-replace timeline support if execution stays on track. This is the base case for $28 on a 24 to 36 month view.
Route 3 — Strategic takeout. At roughly $830M implied EV, AMPG is still small enough for Fujitsu, Nokia, Ericsson, or a US defense communications consolidator (L3Harris, Comtech, Kratos) to consider. Historical control premiums in the space run 40% to 60% over unaffected price, which means the unaffected trading range would need to sit near $17.50 to $20.00 for $28 to be the takeout number. In practice, the takeout path likely runs through Route 1 or 2 first (stock rerates to the high teens), then a strategic bid follows. It is not a standalone route to $28 from $5.41.
Validation Triggers

Bottom Line
AMPG is the smallest US-listed proxy for the three-layer chain Morgan Stanley just put a $300 price target on at SpaceX: launch (satellite ground infrastructure), connectivity (Open RAN plus Starlink and Kuiper LNBs), and AI (AI-RAN with NVIDIA Aerial). FY2025 revenue tripled to $25.2M. Q1 FY2026 opened at 48% gross margin. The balance sheet carries no long-term debt on $60.9M of book equity. Management placed a public FY2026 revenue guide of $50M. The board simultaneously terminated the ATM and authorized a $10M buyback. This is what a nano-cap looks like immediately before LOIs convert to purchase orders or a strategic buyer moves. The Maxim $7 target is the near-term floor. The $28 target is the 24 to 36 month destination if execution delivers FY28 $100M revenue and the AI-RAN cohort multiple holds. Both outcomes depend on the SpaceX and AI narrative holding through August earnings.
